SCDOT I-77 Exit 26 Interchange

CES Group Engineers provided comprehensive design survey services to support infrastructure improvements at the I-77 Exit 26 Interchange, part of a larger initiative to enhance access to the new Scout Motors manufacturing facility.

01 Project Scope:

In partnership with RS&H, CES led coordination across multiple survey disciplines, including conventional surveying, aerial LiDAR, photogrammetry, and mobile scanning. The team established a high-precision GPS control network, conducted detailed roadway and utility surveys, and created digital terrain models, right-of-way maps, and property strip maps to guide engineering design across nearly 1,000 acres.

02 The Challenge:

Surveying for this project required integration of diverse datasets from various teams working across a large and complex site. Aligning CES’ control network with external control established by other firms was critical to ensure consistency. The project also involved tight tolerances and coordination across 15 miles of roadway, in addition to supporting proposed rail and road realignments within an active development corridor.

03 The Result:

CES delivered unified 2D and 3D topographic data products that supported accurate, efficient design efforts and helped accelerate project delivery. Their robust control network and seamless integration of aerial and terrestrial survey data ensured design consistency across all project components. CES’ coordination and technical precision helped keep production on schedule and within budget, playing a key role in advancing one of South Carolina’s most significant infrastructure investments in support of industrial growth and community development.
