Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) methods minimize or eliminate costly project delays, by providing designers with comprehensive and accurate information about underground utilities early in the project development stage.  SUE combines elements of civil engineering, land surveying, and geophysics with vacuum excavation to collect and map detailed 3-D information about subsurface utilities.  The resulting permanent record of detailed utility data can be integrated into the planning process for current or future projects.

CES Group provides subsurface utility locating and designating services on project sites, utilizing ground penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic and sonic methods and equipment.  Field personnel are equipped with tablet computers for efficient on-the-go storage and transmission of data.

CES Group has completed, or is currently under contract to provide SUE services for a number of large projects, including base-wide mapping of an entire utility system at both Fort Bragg and Pope Army Airfield, and for multiple City of Charlotte project sites.
